The Photographic Archive and Sharing Hidden Treasures

The evening centres on the Regency Society's own unique photographic archive of Brighton, the James Gray Collection.

Catherine Moriaty, head of the Design History Archives at the University of Brighton will talk on 'Conserving and Archiving Photographs' and Duncan McNeill, photographer, architect and editor of the Regency Society's highly praised website will give
'An Introduction to the James Gray Collection'
which is becoming a digitised resource under his management.

Sought after for their insight and imagination, the Chilingirian Quartet, founded in 1971, is one of the world’s most celebrated and widely travelled ensembles. Maestros in their own right, as a quartet they are renowned both for their thrilling interpretations of earlier composers and commanding performances of the contemporary repertoire.

As well as broadcasting throughout Europe, North America and for the BBC, they make many recordings and have recently embarked on a project of DVDs of all the Beethoven Quartets recorded live.

Please Note:
Their has been a necessary slight programme change to this concert.

In place of BARTOK Quartet No.4 the quartet will perform SHOSTAKOVICH No 11 Op 122.
