Springboard, formerly Brighton & Hove Competitive Musical Festival, is Brighton & Hove's leading youth performing arts festival.

The 2008 Festival is held from 29 February - 06 April 2008.
This year is our 84th Festival !

The 2008 Festival
The 2008 Springboard Festival has been a wonderful year for all involved, with so much talent and commitment shown from all the young performers who entered. We really hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we did!

The Festival Finale concert on Sunday 6 April, as I'm sure you'll agree, went off with a bang and was a fantastic opportunity for so many of the young people to perform on the big stage.

A big thank you to all who took part, volunteers, adjudicators, sponsors, teachers and parents.

We look forward to seeing you all again at the Festival next year.

OPEN TO : Singers of all ages
PRIZE : Opportunity for finalists (Aged 16-21) to perform with BRIGHTON & HOVE BIG BAND

NEW - CONCERTO CLASS OPPORTUNITIES
OPEN TO : Instrumentalists of all ages
PRIZES : Opportunities for selected finalists* to perform in 2008-2009 season with the BRIGHTON YOUTH ORCHESTRA, BYO STRING ENSEMBLE & B&H YOUTH PHILHARMONIA.
*Aged 23 & Under, living or with parental home in Sussex

NEW - CLASSES FOR CHOIRS
OPEN TO : Choirs of all ages & styles
PRIZES : Opportunities to perform in the Springboard Prize Winners Concert (see below).
[Please Note : Timings of classes are flexible. Adult classes will be scheduled, as far as possible, during evening & weekends]

NEW - PIANO : Student Recital Class
OPEN TO : Any full-time music student (Conservatoire or University)
PRIZES : First Prize £300 - Second Prize £150 - Audience Prize £50
Under the age of 21 on 31 December 2007
- who has lived or attended school in Sussex for a period of at least 2 years during their life

This year we are delighted to announce that there will be a
'FESTIVAL FINALE' concert on Sunday 6 April 2008 at Concert Hall, Brighton Dome. This is both an exciting opportunity for chosen entrants to perform, while also a fantastic finale to the festival!
